On Monday 8th of March, the Bliss Team was honoured to be invited to ‘The Business Chicks’ International Women's Day breakfast event at the Hyatt Regency in Darling Harbour, Sydney.

International Women's Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 to commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women. It is also a focal point in the women's rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence against women.

We had a table of 10 for all our staff, thanks to the Grow with Google Team.

We were extremely excited and honoured to be there and as we entered, we were greeted with so many amazing women discussing what and where we feel like the best version of ourselves.

We were surprised to have a front row table next to Google & Ebay! We got complementary little gifts and a yummy breakfast.

Our documentary was played which was amazing and Mel was recognised by Natasha Belling for her hard work, achievements, and diligence. We then listened to three amazing speakers, all women who although had different life experiences and upbringings expressed how we are all one and we must stand together as strong women.

We were then honoured to meet the head of Google Australia, John and the many members of the Grow with Google team that have helped us reach where we are today.

The Bliss Team had a wonderful time away and were able to wander the city and go for dinner together the night before and spent the day grateful for the women that surround us in the workplace and out.

For Melissa (The owner of Bliss), this was a very emotional day as she wore her fathers shirt to give her strength as this was very much a ‘pinch me moment’. She felt as though she has really made it as a business owner.

We are so proud of our boss Melissa; without her strength and courage we would not have the opportunities we do whilst working at Bliss and we thank her for choosing us to be apart of this amazing team.
